Now that a lot of the early season play has been completed and the French Open is almost complete, we can get a more accurate picture of what we should expect when Wimbledon comes around very soon. While past results are not an indicator of future performance, we can get a pretty accurate picture of who the favorites will be for Wimbledon.

Based on the finals for the French Open, it seems as though Rafael Nadal will be the front runner this year. He pretty much made it to the finals with relative ease, with very few people even coming close to matching his skill.

The upset of Roger Federer was a huge surprise for most. It is rare that anyone ever beats Roger, let alone before the finals of a major. But, I think we can chalk this one up to Roger having a bad day, as a single loss for him is a rarity that he is sure to bounce back from.

Another somewhat surprising defeat was Andy Roddick. Last years runner up to Roger Federer in Wimbledon didn’t even make it to the second week of the French Open. But, last year he didn’t do very well in France and look where he ended up at Wimbledon.

Wimbledon is not far away, and it is shaping up to be a top class tournament. Nobody knows who is going to win on the Men’s side, and the competition is sure to heat up as soon as the top contender hit the courts.

The Formula One Season is not yet half way over, but like in years past, we already have a pretty clear picture of who the dominate drivers and teams are, and the major storylines for the season have already been set.

Once again, the Red Bull team is doing very well early in the season. They dominate most sessions, and are only beat by their competitors when they make mistakes themselves. There have been a few times already this season where this has been the case and they have given wins away. If they want to keep a grasp on the world championship, they are going to have to fix this issue.

The McLaren duo of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton seem to be the only two people who can challenge Red Bull this year. Besides the season opening win by Ferrari, McLaren is the only other team that has been able to win this year besides Red Bull. Do they have what it takes to jump over the Red Bull team?

The return of Michael Schumacher has been lackluster at best and is seen as disappointing by many. He has never really been a contender to win a race. Sure, he has been out of the car for some time now, but by now he should be back on the right track. Maybe a little more time is all he needs.

Things can change fast in Formula One – we will have to continue watching the remainder of the season to see what is going to happen and what new story lines we will be talking about.

The Tour De France is almost among us one again, and this year’s tour promises to be an exciting one. All the early season racing has been done, and we have a better picture of who some of the favorites will be for the tour this year.

Leading the front of the pack is Alberto Contador. Last years tour winner was on strong form earlier in the year and he is priming himself for a repeat. There is no better grand tour rider in the world right now than Alberto Contador.

Ivan Basso, coming off a big win in the Giro will be another favorite. He usually does not do so well in the tour, but this could be the year it all changes.

The Schleck brothers are always strong, and they could be the ones to challenge for the yellow jersey with Team Saxobank. They seem to have the strongest all around team this year.

Carlos Sastre is a question mark for Cervelo Test Team. He did not perform in the Giro like he had hoped, and is not even sure he will race the tour this year.

And finally, Lance Armstrong is always a favorite whenever he races the tour. He has not been particularly strong at the beginning of this year, but he usually peaks around the right time and is looking to take his 8th Tour De France victory.

The only think that is certain is that no one knows who will win the tour this year. When it starts in July, we will just have to watch and find out what happens!

There is a lot of emphasis put on men’s tennis around this time of year, but we must all remember that the women are also playing for the title as well. There is a lot of intense competition going on between the top women’s seeds, and many times the competition on that side is as good as the men.

The dominant force on the women’s side continues to be the Williams sisters. Whenever they play, they are a force to be reckoned with. Their incredible strength and agility make them very difficult to play against.

Elena Dementieva is playing very well so far this year as well. But, she did have to pull out of the French Open with an injury, so hopefully she will be back to 100% for Wimbledon.

A surprising disappointment this year is once again Maria Sharapova. The media sweetheart has not been able to back up some of her earlier play, and she has never been a threat to win yet this year. Ever since she has returned from her injury, she has not been the same player she was in the past.

There are many other players who could take Wimbledon, like Justin Henin or Kim Clijsters. But, if they want to, they are going to have to beat the Williams sisters.

When Wimbledon starts again, don’t just focus on the men – take some time to watch the women’s matches as well. You may be pleasantly surprised with the level of competition you see.

It’s almost time. We have all been waiting four years for this to come. The World Cup is only a few short sleeps away. All the teams are pretty much set and final preparations are underway to make this one of the best football tournaments the world has ever seen. But, there still is the small question of who is going to win it all?

There are no shortages of worthy contenders for the World Cup this year, but the perennial favorites seem to be poised to dominate the tournament once again. But, there is always room for upsets, and nobody will hand over the cup until the last minute of the last match is played. Its anybodies tournament for the taking.

Team Italy is once again strong, bringing all their best players to South Africa. They always seem to put on a show whether they win or lose, so they are definitely a team to watch.

Team England may be another team that may not be a favorite right now, but as the tournament moves on, people may start to see the strength they have. People always seem to underestimate the English team, but maybe this is the year they change people’s expectations.

There is no way to predict who will do well in the World Cup this year until the competition starts. Lucky for us, the time is near. The competition starts soon. You aren’t going to want to miss a minute of this year’s action!

One of the burning questions in the minds of many golf fans is the future of Tiger Woods. Everyone knows about the scandal that he is currently going through, but more people are worried about his on course performance than what happens when he is not playing golf.

Ever since the story of his scandal broke, he has not been able to focus very much on his golf game. Even though he is the best golfer in the world, there are still many contenders who are trying their best to unseat him. When he is not at the top of his game, he is beatable by many, and that is what is happening right now.

He is once again on a short break from the game getting ready for his next tournament. In his past few outings, he has put in a less than stellar performance and has actually missed the cut on one occasion. This is not the Tiger we all love to watch – this is a Tiger that is just trying to prove to everyone that this scandal has not fazed him. The only problem is, its not working…

Nobody doubts the ability Tiger has and the fact that he will once again return to the form he has had in the past, it is just a question of how long it is going to take. The sport of golf depends on him doing well, so the sooner he is back at the top of the game, the sooner golf will recover.
